日本口臭学会第15回学術大会のホームページにようこそ。

ここ大阪の地で学術大会が開催されるのは、本田俊一先生が大会長を務められた第5回大会以来10年ぶりとなり、今回は私が大会長をお務めいたします。

本学術大会のテーマは「三方よしの口臭診療」です。「三方」とは買い手、売り手、世間を指し、この3者がいわばウィンウィンの関係で受益することを理念とした近江商人の言葉です。

口臭診療において、口臭の改善は言うまでもなく「患者（買い手）よし」ですが、それに留まらず「医療者（売り手）よし」、延いては「社会（世間）よし」の側面があります。口臭が改善することで患者のみならず患者の周囲や地域、職場、学校にまで幸福感が伝播し、明るく快適な社会の実現に寄与します。

他方で医療者側はさらなるスキルと自信を身に付け、予防歯科や口腔内科、心身医学といった領域にもより積極的に取り組んでいけるでしょう。歯科医院や病院の来院患者への医療サービスの充実やスタッフの知識、意欲の向上にもつながります。社会生活に影を落としがちな口臭の治療に成功することは、まさに国民全体の福音ともいえるでしょう。

「三方よし」の活動理念に倣い、本大会は開業医である私が医院経営や病院経営の観点から口臭診療について考察するプログラムを組みました。

コロナ対策でもご活躍された医療ガバナンス研究所理事長、医師でもある上昌広先生には医院経営に関する特別講演を依頼しました。CBTセンターの西川公平所長と歯科情報誌『アポロニア21』の水谷惟紗久編集長には教育講演を行っていただきます。また、シンポジウム「口臭診療の経営的側面」には岩手医科大学歯学部口腔医学講座の岸光男教授、いずみ中山歯科の佐々木金也副院長、アルファネットの中山哲史代表取締役に登壇していただく予定です。

会場の大阪大学コンベンションセンターは大阪北部の大阪大学吹田キャンパスにあり、大阪空港からモノレールで「阪大病院前」下車、徒歩12分です。大阪駅や新大阪駅からは大阪メトロ御堂筋線で「千里中央駅」下車、モノレールに乗換えとなります。

行き届かない点は多々あるかと思いますが、この大阪で皆様に有意義な時間を過ごしていただけるよう一同総力を挙げて準備を万端に整え皆様のご来場をお待ちしています。

Welcome to the homepage of the 15th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Oral Malodor Research.

It has been ten years since the last meeting held here in Osaka, chaired by Dr. Shunichi Honda, and I am honored to serve as the chairman this time.

The theme of this academic meeting is "Oral Malodor Treatment for the Benefit of All." "All" refers to the buyers, sellers, and society, a concept derived from the philosophy of the Omi merchants, emphasizing a win-win relationship among these three parties.

In oral malodor treatment, improving bad breath is undoubtedly beneficial for the patients (buyers), but it also benefits the healthcare providers (sellers) and, consequently, society as a whole. The improvement in bad breath not only benefits the patients but also spreads happiness to their surroundings, communities, workplaces, and schools, contributing to the realization of a brighter and more comfortable society.

On the other hand, healthcare providers can acquire further skills and confidence, leading them to actively engage in areas such as preventive dentistry, oral medicine, and psychosomatic medicine. This success in treating bad breath, which often casts a shadow over social life, could be good news for the entire nation.

Following the philosophy of "benefit for all," in this meeting, I as a practicing physician, has organized programs to examine oral malodor treatment from the perspectives of clinic and hospital management.

We have invited Dr. Masahiro Kami, the Director of the Medical Governance Research Institute who has also been active in COVID-19 measures, to deliver a special lecture on clinic management. Dr. Kohei Nishikawa, the Director of the CBT Center, and Ms. Isaku Mizutani, the Editor-in-Chief of the dental magazine "Apollonia 21," will deliver educational lectures. Moreover, for the symposium "Business Aspects of Oral Malodor Treatment," we have scheduled presentations by Professor Mitsuo Kishi from the Department of Oral Medicine at Iwate Medical University School of Dentistry, Vice Director Kinya Sasaki from Izumi Nakayama Dental Clinic, and CEO Tetsushi Nakayama from Alphanet.

Osaka University Convention Center, is located at Osaka University's Suita Campus in northern Osaka. It is a 12-minute walk from "Handai Byoin-mae" station of the monorail from Osaka Airport. From Osaka Station or Shin-Osaka Station, take the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line to "Senri-Chuo Station," then transfer to the monorail.

We are still inexperienced and might cause some trouble,but we are putting all our efforts into making thorough preparations to ensure that everyone can have a meaningful time here in Osaka. We eagerly await your attendance.
